A Role Model in Building Ecology

Office for Environment and Energy

Location: Basel, Switzerland
Architecture: jessenvollenweider
Photography: Philip Heckhausen

The new building of the Office for the Environment and Energy of the Swiss canton of Basel-Stadt sets an example in the areas of energy efficiency, building ecology and architecture. It is the first office building in the region to be awarded the Minergie-A-ECO label, which enables independent self-production of energy. Our sustainable acoustic solutions help to achieve the high ecological requirements in the field of interior design.

The ARCHISONIC® acoustic panels made from recycled plastic bottles integrate directly into the building's construction made of regional wood and recycled concrete. For the acoustic optimisation of the office spaces, the architects use the colours Charcoal 542 and Ground 108.
